Lang 1943

Founded in 2022, LANG 1943 is a contemporary watch brand that pays tribute to one of horology’s most influential watchmakers: Gerd-Rüdiger Lang, who passed away in early 2023.  The independent luxury watch brand arose out of a very special dialogue between founder Georg Bartkowiak and Gerd-Rüdiger where the two had collaborated a number of times on special commissions.

During the 1990s, Rüdiger acquired the remaining stock of vintage Marvin movements and components, which have been carefully stored and preserved. Today, these movements have been restored, decorated, and modified by the skilled watchmakers at Lang 1943. The result is the L43.1 Calibre, operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour and providing a power reserve of 46 hours when fully wound.
