ALI NAEL, FOUNDER SINGAPORE WATCH FAIR
Each vintage timepiece marks a period of time in human history and also entails the life story of the bearers; usually an exceptional individual.
Singapore Watch Fair is the brainchild of Ali Nael. To Ali, collecting and appreciating vintage timepieces is more than consumerism. It is about understanding and appreciating the history and development of watchmaking, and honouring the great names that have made possible the continuation of this engineering marvel we have on our wrists. Some names may have faded into oblivion with time, but when he discover timepieces from them, he grabs them with no hesitation. As a collector, Ali seek to not only share his discoveries with fellow collectors, but also share his experience and knowledge in collecting vintage timepieces with individuals who are keen.
Born in Beirut, Ali started his first company in Macao and Guangzhou, China, handling exports of all kind of goods to West Africa and the Middle-East. He went into the oil industry in 2006 which subsequently established a company headquartered in Singapore. As a well-travelled businessman, Ali was always looking out for rare, exquisite and historically significant watches wherever his business brings him to. Ali has since left the successful stint in the oil industry, and is residing in Singapore, which he calls home.
