Doris’ love of stones and her fascination for them was sparked at a young age by a rock found in the Swiss mountains. On the outside it looked like a plain gray rock. Cracked open, the now visible sparkling and shimmering insides left her mesmerized. Her quest to discover what is within a stone is what inspires her to creates exquisite, handmade jewelry, all crafted with meticulous attention to detail.

In 2014, Doris founded Doris Hangartner AG. Her company focused on sourcing exquisite gems, matching them to clients’ desires, and curating exceptional gem portfolios. As a gemologist and esteemed private jeweler with over 30 years of expertise in the international gem and jewelry industry, Doris is well known for her remarkable achievements and visionary approach.

Gemstones are rare and hold value over time. Doris believed that just like a person, a plant or a song, every gem has its own presence and personality, its own signature and tune.
Recently, Doris became a pioneer in the world of gemstones after she introduced the first-ever NFT gem collection. Her innovative idea was born from her desire to merge different worlds—combining gems with captivating imagery presented as enhanced NFT artworks. She understands the boundless possibilities of virtual space, just like the mesmerizing glow of a gem.
Furthermore, Doris has also written a beautiful coffee table book called “PURELY PARAIBA.” It introduces the extraordinary Paraiba Tourmaline—or Paraiba, the gem that shines with vivid neon blue and green colors, which looks truly mesmerizing and fascinating look.
